IS CANCELED DUE TO SECURITY REASONS :(

Habba literally denotes festival in Kannada – the local State language of Karnataka. The Bengaluru Habba aims to provide valuable and aesthetic entertainment at no cost for the audiences. We hope to expose youth to the joy of live traditional performing and visual arts and crafts and to make Bengaluru a culturally vibrant place. Classical dance performances, Carnatic & Hindustani music recitals, Folk dances, English & Regional theatre productions, Craft melas and Sports competitions add to the grandeur of the festival at multiple venues in the city. Internationally, nationally and locally acclaimed artists grace the Habba’s stage.

Ronu Majumdar & Kadri Gopalnath, Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Rahul Sharma, Lillette Dubey, Kala Madhyam artisans, EVAM productions, Galeej Gurus, and Aditi Mangaldas, Shaan, Sukhwinder Singh, Pandit Birju Maharaj, Pandits Ranjan & Sajan Mishra, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasiya, Shree L. Subramanyam, Shivamani and Taufiq Quereshi have all performed at previous Bengaluru Habbas.
To mark the 6th year celebration, the Government of Karnataka has graciously agreed to adopt the Bengaluru Habba as one of the flagship festivals of the state, in partnership with the private sector. This endeavour is the first of its kind in the country where the public, private and the industrial sector have come together to present the artistic palette of India which has enthralled millions around the world.

It indeed gives us great pleasure to invite you once again to another year of festivities at the 6th Bengaluru Habba from December 4th to December 21st, 2008.

All events are free and open to the public.

About Yours truly Theatre
Based in Bangalore, our strength lies in experimentation with various forms & formats of theatre. Yours Truly is working on developing more theatre concepts which are relevant to today’s world. We believe theatre should transition into what cinema and mass media cannot give, a personal intimate experience. Other than doing regular public show, one of the main aims of YT is to take theatre to people who can’t access theatre physically or financially, we work with Ngo’s and reach out labor camps, hospices, rehabilitation centers, juvenile homes .

About Our Recent productions
Common Man
This comedy is a social satire and is performed in the “Complete-The-Story” style of theatre. It is a tribute to the common man and his dreams, aspirations, conflicts. The play has been performed in Bangalore at Ranga Shankara many shows and will be travelling other cities . The play has been very well received by audience.

Bhagwaan Dundoo -a journey in search of god
A light hearted play which explores the journey of a tribal’s to the city in search of god. The play is a great entertainer with dance, music and audience interaction. However it leaves audience pondering over various issues faced today.
