Satyricon is a Norwegian black metal band, formerly known as Eczema. The band credits their First album, Dark Medieval Times, with starting a black metal subgenre that they dubbed “medieval metal”. The album showed off the fascination Satyricon had with the Middle Ages, along with raw black metal blast beats produced by Frost, mixed with acoustic guitar and flute. On the next album, The Shadowthrone, this medieval spirit was continued.
Regarding one of their latest albums, Volcano, frontman Satyr stated in a press release / biography on their homepage that “the music is rock based but more extreme; it is black metal pushing the boundaries that began with bands like Venom and Bathory, reinventing ourselves based on a foundation of rock oriented black metal is our philosophy.” It resulted in a total of 4 Awards for Volcano being, the Norwegian Grammy for “Best Metal Album”, an Alarm award for “Fuel For Hatred” in the category for “Song of the Year”, as well as The Alarm Award for “Metal Album of the Year” and The Oslo awards for “Best Overall Album”.
In March 2008, the band headlined the Inferno Metal Festival in Oslo for the first time.
A new single “My Skin Is Cold” was released on June 2, 2008.
Satyricon’s newest album is entitled “The Age of Nero” and is due to be released November 3, 2008

Biography
Sahg is a four-piece Norwegian metal band formed in 2004. After years of involvement on different ends of the Norwegian rock and metal scene, four hard rock devotees teamed up under the name Sahg. The band consists of King on bass, Olav on lead vocals and guitar, Thomas on guitar and Tor on drums. In mid-April 2006, the band’s debut album ‘Sahg 1′ was released across Europe, with numerous positive reviews on the album. ‘Sahg 1′ entered the Norwegian charts at no. 31, and the record sales continued to be much better than anticipated. The album’s positive reception resulted in Sahg shifting their focus into live performances. The band did some live appearances in Scandinavia throughout the summer, such as the Hole in the Sky Festival in Bergen, Norway.
Sahg was part of the Wacken Open Air festival in the north of Germany in 2007 and is expected to play at the 2008 edition of the Metal Camp fest.
With appearances at Bylarm (national Norwegian showcase festival and international music business get-together) and Inferno Festival, along with bands like Emperor, Cathedral and Witchcraft, a bigger audience had started opening their eyes to Sahg. The media attention was increasing rapidly, in Norwegian as well as international press, and the band received some astonishing concert reviews.
In September 2006, Sahg headed out on a three weeks tour of USA and Canada, supporting Swiss metal legends Celtic Frost.
