Three women artists have teamed up to present a glimpse into their inner worlds with paintings in watercolour, acrylic, oil and mixed media.
Mini Arora reveals her inner self through paintings of an abstract expressionist nature. This versatile artist has put together a series of abstracts in oil called ғyncopationҬ the ҖedicҠseries of mixed media collages on paper, and impressionistic views of figures and Ganeshas in acrylic.
Her Ganeshas are veiled behind a profusion of brush strokes or knife strokes so that you have to look deep into the painting to uncover its meaning. ԇaneshas are a favourite of mine,Ԡsays the artist, ԉ have such an affinity to the form that they just seem to come from within. Sometimes I donӴ even see a Ganesha until someone points it out in one of my abstracts.ԍ
Chandni Janardhan works in watercolours and pastels. She showcases the backwaters of Kerala with watercolours painted with precise, neat brushstrokes in the traditional method whereby the whites of the paper are left untouched. Her pastel portraits and wildlife paintings come alive with the genius of her deft strokes. Look out for her portrayal of the famous Afghan Girl.
Urvashi Thakkarӳ desire is to give the viewer a sense of peace and calm away from our tumultuous world with her ҇arden of the GodsҠseries. Lotus flowers and the Divine being with its many faces are a passion for her, and she hopes her paintings can help the viewer in his search for strength and spirituality. She remembers Roerich encouraging her to paint and strive towards the beautiful with a quote from Plato, Ԇrom beautiful images we shall go to beautiful thoughts, from beautiful thoughts to beautiful life and from a beautiful life to absolute beautyԮ
